Aug 12, 2023Aug 12, 2023

SAN JOSE — A man died Saturday after a two-car crash on Highway 237 in North San Jose, according to authorities.

Around 5:09 p.m. Saturday, a 47-year-old man driving a 2004 Honda Civic began to veer to the left while driving in the far-left lane on eastbound Highway 237, just west of First Street, according to the California Highway Patrol. The vehicle hit the median, which sent it off to the right across all lanes of traffic. The car went off the roadway and into a concrete barrier on the edge of the road.

After colliding with the barrier, the car again veered to the left and hit a Toyota Tundra being driven by a 52-year-old man. The Honda again hit the center median, this time coming to a stop on all four tires. The Toyota came to a rest while still on the roadway, according to the CHP.

The Toyota driver was uninjured in the crash.

Drugs and alcohol were not suspected in the collision, according to the CHP.
